r <br /> 1 RESOLUTION NO. 21¢ 9 f <br /> 2 <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing vacation and demolition of a building <br /> 3 situated at 6719 Highland Drive. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 WHEREAS, the City of Everett Building Official has found that the building <br /> 6 which is located at 6719 Highland Drive is a substandard building pursuant to the <br /> 7 Uniform Housing Code; and <br /> 8 WHEREAS, the City of Everett Building Official has found the building which is <br /> 9 located at 6719 Highland Drive is a dangerous building pursuant to the Uniform Code <br /> 10 for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings; and <br /> 11 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Official issued an Order <br /> 12 requiring the owners of the property to vacate the building and to make the necessary <br /> 13 repairs or to demolish the building; and <br /> 14 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the vacation, repairs or demolition have <br /> 15 not taken place as was required in the Order; and <br /> 16 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Order issued by the Building Official <br /> 17 was properly served on the owners of the property in question; and <br /> 18 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Official has the authority to <br /> 19 recommend this action pursuant to the Uniform Housing Code and and Uniform Code <br /> 20 for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings; and <br /> 21 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the owners have been given notice of this <br /> 22 Council meeting; and <br /> 23 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there has been no appeal of the Order <br /> 24 issued by the Building Official and that the appeal period has expired; and <br /> 25 WHEREAS, the City Council, upon due consideration, deems it in the best <br /> 26 interest of the health, safety and welfare of the building's occupant and public that a <br /> 27 Resolution be adopted requiring the demolition of the building; <br /> 28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT: <br /> 29 Section 1: That the building located at 6719 Highland Drive which is legally <br /> 30 described as follows contains conditions which endanger the life, limb, health, property, <br /> 31 safety and welfare of the occupants of the building as well as the public: <br /> 32 <br />
