For clarification, please cloud and identify any revisions to the drawings <br /> from what was originally submitted for permit. <br /> Mechanical Review <br /> 1. Rooftop support engineering was submitted for ACU-1 per the building permit structural drawings, <br /> sheet number 54.0. <br /> 2. ACU-2 exceeds 54,000 BTU/h and will require an economizer, per WSEC section 1423 (b). <br /> 3. The Planning Department may have screening requirements. Contact Planning at 425-257-8731. <br /> Type I Hood Review: <br /> 1. The new Type I hood exhaust requirements to be shown on the drawings include: <br /> a. Duct materials and thickness, per IMC section 5063.1. <br /> b. Exhaust and makeup air CFM requirements. <br /> c. Maintenance access, per IMC section 306.5. The height of the building should be indicated on <br /> the submittal. Fixed ladder access is Fequired when the roof is at a height exceeding 16 feet from <br /> grade. <br /> d. That a light test affidavit will be provided to inspector on-site at a time where the inspector can <br /> review installation, per IMC section 506.33.1. <br /> 2. A schematic roof plan should be submitted to indicate a minimum dimension of ten feet separating the <br /> Type I hood e�aust and make-up air intake, per IMC section 506.3.12.3. <br /> 3. The wall construction behind the Type I hood should be called out on the drawings to be metal stud <br /> construction to reduce the required clearance of 18 inches from the Type I hood, per IMC section 507.9. <br /> 4. A building cross-section should be submitted to indicate the method of separation from the roof/ceiling <br /> assembly penetrated by Type I hood duct and the exhaust profile above the roof. <br /> a. A hinge should be indicated on the drawings at the up-blast fan for Type I hood, per IMC <br /> 506.5.3, with flexible, weatherproof cable. <br /> b. 40 inch minimum termination of discharge exhaust opening should be shown in section above <br /> the roof, per IMC section 506.3.12.1. <br /> c. 18 clearances sllould be shown from the Type I hood duct to roof-ceiling construction that <br /> contains wood or ceiling tiles, per IMC sections 506.5.4, 507.9 and 506.3.10.
