For clarification, please cloud and identify any revisions to the drawings from what was originally submitted for permit. Mechanical Review 1. Rooftop support engineering was submitted for ACU-1 per the building permit structural drawings, sheet number 54.0. 2. ACU-2 exceeds 54,000 BTU/h and will require an economizer, per WSEC section 1423 (b). 3. The Planning Department may have screening requirements. Contact Planning at 425-257-8731. Type I Hood Review: 1. The new Type I hood exhaust requirements to be shown on the drawings include: a. Duct materials and thickness, per IMC section 5063.1. b. Exhaust and makeup air CFM requirements. c. Maintenance access, per IMC section 306.5. The height of the building should be indicated on the submittal. Fixed ladder access is Fequired when the roof is at a height exceeding 16 feet from grade. d. That a light test affidavit will be provided to inspector on-site at a time where the inspector can review installation, per IMC section 506.33.1. 2. A schematic roof plan should be submitted to indicate a minimum dimension of ten feet separating the Type I hood e�aust and make-up air intake, per IMC section 506.3.12.3. 3. The wall construction behind the Type I hood should be called out on the drawings to be metal stud construction to reduce the required clearance of 18 inches from the Type I hood, per IMC section 507.9. 4. A building cross-section should be submitted to indicate the method of separation from the roof/ceiling assembly penetrated by Type I hood duct and the exhaust profile above the roof. a. A hinge should be indicated on the drawings at the up-blast fan for Type I hood, per IMC 506.5.3, with flexible, weatherproof cable. b. 40 inch minimum termination of discharge exhaust opening should be shown in section above the roof, per IMC section 506.3.12.1. c. 18 clearances sllould be shown from the Type I hood duct to roof-ceiling construction that contains wood or ceiling tiles, per IMC sections 506.5.4, 507.9 and 506.3.10.
