RESOLUTION NO. c>2.40 <br /> A RESOLUTION accepting the Port Gardner Neighborhood's recommendations <br /> for expenditure of approximately $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant <br /> funds and a matching amount from the street overlay fund; specifying the <br /> improvements to be made; and authorizing the preparation of a Plans and <br /> Systens Ordinance for construction and project implementation in the Spring <br /> and Summer of 1984. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to improve public <br /> facilities and the livability of the Port Gardner area; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 18, 1984, the City Council authorized approximately <br /> $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds for improvements in the <br /> northeast area as part of the City of Everett's 1984 Community Development <br /> Block Grant application; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 19, 1984, Mayor Bill Moore authorized $30,000 of <br /> matching funding for Community Development Block Grant funded street and <br /> sidewalk neighborhood improvements in the Port Gardner area; <br /> WHEREAS, on April 9, 1984, residents of the Port Gardner Neighborhood <br /> held a neighborhood-wide meeting at which residents voted on the proposed <br /> projects; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Councilof the City of <br /> Everett that: <br /> The following projects as recommended by Port Gardner residents he implemented <br /> or constructed with the approproximately $60,000 available through the <br /> Community Development Block Grant Program and matching funding available <br /> through the street overlay fund. <br /> I. Allocate $60,000 in CDBG funds and in matching funds for the following <br /> street and sidewalk improvement projects: <br /> A. Norton Avenue - 3600 Block <br /> Replace approximately 20 feet of raised/broken sidewalk on the <br /> east side of the 3600 block of Norton Avenue. <br /> B. East side of Terrace Drive - 42nd Street to 43rd Street <br /> (North side of 43rd Street) Terrace Drive to alley west of Rucker <br /> Avenue. Construct new sidewalk behind existing curb and gutter. <br /> C. 36th Street/Friday Avenue Intersection <br /> Construct concrete curb returns and improve storm drainage at the <br /> northwest corner of the intersection of 36th Street and Friday <br /> Avenue. <br /> D. East side of Terrace Drive - 43rd Street to 44th Street <br /> Construct new sidewalk behind existing curb and gutter. <br /> E. Grand Avenue - 3400 block <br /> Replace cracked sidewalk in font of 3401 Grand Avenue. <br /> F. 33rd Street/Oakes Avenue Intersection <br /> Replace approximately 130 feet of broken sidewalk on the <br /> northeast corner of 32nd Street and Oakes Avenue intersection. <br /> G. 35th Street - Wetmore to Rockefeller <br /> Construct new curbs, gutters, and sidewalks on both sides of 35th <br /> Street. <br />
