RESOLUTION NO. c>2.40 A RESOLUTION accepting the Port Gardner Neighborhood's recommendations for expenditure of approximately $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds and a matching amount from the street overlay fund; specifying the improvements to be made; and authorizing the preparation of a Plans and Systens Ordinance for construction and project implementation in the Spring and Summer of 1984. WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to improve public facilities and the livability of the Port Gardner area; and WHEREAS, on January 18, 1984, the City Council authorized approximately $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds for improvements in the northeast area as part of the City of Everett's 1984 Community Development Block Grant application; and WHEREAS, on January 19, 1984, Mayor Bill Moore authorized $30,000 of matching funding for Community Development Block Grant funded street and sidewalk neighborhood improvements in the Port Gardner area; WHEREAS, on April 9, 1984, residents of the Port Gardner Neighborhood held a neighborhood-wide meeting at which residents voted on the proposed projects; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Councilof the City of Everett that: The following projects as recommended by Port Gardner residents he implemented or constructed with the approproximately $60,000 available through the Community Development Block Grant Program and matching funding available through the street overlay fund. I. Allocate $60,000 in CDBG funds and in matching funds for the following street and sidewalk improvement projects: A. Norton Avenue - 3600 Block Replace approximately 20 feet of raised/broken sidewalk on the east side of the 3600 block of Norton Avenue. B. East side of Terrace Drive - 42nd Street to 43rd Street (North side of 43rd Street) Terrace Drive to alley west of Rucker Avenue. Construct new sidewalk behind existing curb and gutter. C. 36th Street/Friday Avenue Intersection Construct concrete curb returns and improve storm drainage at the northwest corner of the intersection of 36th Street and Friday Avenue. D. East side of Terrace Drive - 43rd Street to 44th Street Construct new sidewalk behind existing curb and gutter. E. Grand Avenue - 3400 block Replace cracked sidewalk in font of 3401 Grand Avenue. F. 33rd Street/Oakes Avenue Intersection Replace approximately 130 feet of broken sidewalk on the northeast corner of 32nd Street and Oakes Avenue intersection. G. 35th Street - Wetmore to Rockefeller Construct new curbs, gutters, and sidewalks on both sides of 35th Street.
