RESOLUTION NO. a y.5 <br /> Ij A RESOLUTION adopting 1984 economic development <br /> ii <br /> priorities and establishing a work program with other <br /> public and private development interests. <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of expressing these economic development priorities <br /> is to provide the community with a general view from the City government's <br /> jperspective of present and potential development direction, and <br /> WHEREAS, since the early 1970's, the City of Everett has addressed a <br /> cyclical economy prone to sudden and prolonged recessions, and <br /> WHEREAS, the need for diversification and stability of economic activity in <br /> Everett has always been apparent, and <br /> WHEREAS, development of a better mix of economic and job opportunities, <br /> greater balance and diversity, and a more stable economy continue to be the goals <br /> for economic development in Everett; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br /> 1. The 1984 Economic Development Priorities identify the direction of <br /> City development activity, in its pursuit of diversification, stability and <br /> working relationships with private sector investors and organizations. <br /> 2.
