TPPG Recommendations <br /> 1. A need for an education process regarding the community especially with <br /> public and private leaders in the Puget Sound region. <br /> 2. Commitment to generate an aggressive posture which causes attention to be <br /> focused on Everett. <br /> Projects, Assignments and Priorities <br /> Recommendation: Better to concentrate on a limited but carefully integrated set <br /> of high priority tasks than spread ourselves too thin on many tasks. Study guidelines <br /> recom mend: <br /> 1. Everett should share in Puget Sound growth. Quantitatively as well as <br /> qualitatively. <br /> 2. Everett should retain its unique identity. <br /> 3. Projects and programs should focus on key areas rather than single project or <br /> multitudes of projects. Projects should be diverse yet manageable. <br /> 4. Some effort should begin immediately; others will need more preparation. <br /> 5. Some projects should be relatively easy to build confidence while others will <br /> be more difficult. <br /> The study suggests from purely industrial development to information, services and <br /> recreation development in the United States and the Pacific Northwest; and the <br /> study goes on to suggest this shift seems valid for the City of Everett as well. The <br /> study emphasizes that continued support for industry is essential and should be <br /> upgraded as well. <br /> Finally, the study recommends that economic development in the City of Everett <br /> will require a new sense of partnership between the public and private sectors and <br /> the Port and the City. <br /> The eleven development tasks outlined by the study include: <br /> 1. Establishment of a development corporation. <br /> 2. Waterfront development. <br /> 3. Everett Center. <br /> 4. Downtown development. <br /> 5. Port development. <br /> 6. Industrial marketing and development. <br /> 7. Paine Field future. <br />
