a <br /> Each sleeping room is required to be provided with an operable window or exterior door <br /> approved for emergency escape or rescue per EHC Section 801. Section R310.1 requires <br /> that egress windows be located not more than 44-inches above the floor, have a minimum <br /> opening width of 20-inches, minimum opening height of 24-inches and provide a <br /> minimum openable area of 5 square feet. The window in the sleeping room is <br /> approximately 52" above the floor, 8-1/2" wide by 21"high (1.24 square feet of opening) <br /> and is therefore deficient in all criteria. <br /> ACTION <br /> Building and electrical permits must be obtained for the correction of the violations noted <br /> above within the building. Permits may be obtained at 3200 Cedar Street, 2nd floor. It is <br /> suggested that licensed contractors be secured in order to correct the deficiencies within <br /> the building. All deficient wiring must be exposed and open for inspection. <br /> Enclosed please find a building and electrical permit application.
