#,%/ml - <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7152 <br /> A Resolution Placing the Bank of Everett BuildingN4 I I I I g.i <br /> (Cope Gillette Theatre) <br /> 2730 Wetmore Avenue on the Everett Register of Historic Places <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett adopted Ordinance 1355-87 (amended 1956-93) <br /> authorizing the Everett Historical Commission to consider the merits of properties for <br /> placement on the Everett Register of Historic Places and to recommend to the Everett <br /> City Council that properties be placed on the Everett Register; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett is the owner of the Bank of Everett Building (Cope <br /> Gillette Theatre) at 2730 Wetmore Avenue and consents to placing the building on the <br /> Everett Register of Historic Places; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Historical Commission reviewed the request,held a public <br /> hearing on June 27, 2017, and determined that the Bank of Everett Building, built in <br /> 1963, is at least 50 years old, is a significant building with historical integrity, and meets <br /> the following criteria for inclusion on the Everett Register: <br /> • Embodies distinctive architectural characteristics of a type, period and style of design <br /> and construction; <br /> • Is an outstanding work of a designer, builder or architect who has made a substantial <br /> contribution to the art; <br /> • Exemplifies or reflects special elements of the city's cultural, economic, aesthetic and <br /> architectural history; <br /> • Is associated with events that have made a significant contribution to the broad <br /> patterns of local history; and <br /> • Is associated with the lives of persons significant in local history. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> 1. The Everett City Council concurs with the recommendation of the Everett <br /> Historical Commission to place the Bank of Everett Building (Cope Gillette <br /> Theatre) on the Everett Register of Historic Places. <br /> 2.
