1 WHEREAS, it is the intent of the general purpose governments of the 2 Snohomish Subregion and Snohomish County Public Utility District #1 and the 3 Snohomish Subregional Council of the Puget Sound Council of Governments to 4 assist in the development and implementation of the various programs offered by 5 the Bonneville Power Administration, to monitor and guide implementation of the 6 Act to insure the most cost effective use of the funds available to the Snohomish 7 County PUD Service Area for conservation and new resource development 8 purposes; and 9 WHEREAS, a series of workshops and meetings among local governments, the 10 staffs of the Puget Sound Council of Governments and the Public Utility District 11 have identified over 100 potential energy-related actions for further investigation 12 and possible inclusion in a countywide management plan; and 13 WHEREAS, the general purpose governments of the Snohomish Subregion have 14 a long history of cooperation as evidenced by their continuous participation in the 15 Snohomish Subregional Council of the Puget Sound Council of Governments; 16 NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the City of Everett agrees 17 to participate in the Snohomish Subregion Energy Planning Policy Council 18 (hereinafter "Energy Council") to be in accordance with the Memorandum of 19 Understanding between the Snohomish County Public Utility District No. 1 (the 20 PUD) the general purpose governments of Snohomish County, and the Snohomish 21 Subregional Council of the Puget Sound Council of Governments, signed by the PUD 22 June 22, 1982, and hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign the Memorandum of 23 Understanding for participation on the Energy Council. 24 25 6� 1•,' Councilman I ro ucing Resolution 26 27 PASSED this a day of � , 1982. 28 - �'� 29 -- buncil President 30 31 32
