1 WHEREAS, it is the intent of the general purpose governments of the <br /> 2 Snohomish Subregion and Snohomish County Public Utility District #1 and the <br /> 3 Snohomish Subregional Council of the Puget Sound Council of Governments to <br /> 4 assist in the development and implementation of the various programs offered by <br /> 5 the Bonneville Power Administration, to monitor and guide implementation of the <br /> 6 Act to insure the most cost effective use of the funds available to the Snohomish <br /> 7 County PUD Service Area for conservation and new resource development <br /> 8 purposes; and <br /> 9 WHEREAS, a series of workshops and meetings among local governments, the <br /> 10 staffs of the Puget Sound Council of Governments and the Public Utility District <br /> 11 have identified over 100 potential energy-related actions for further investigation <br /> 12 and possible inclusion in a countywide management plan; and <br /> 13 WHEREAS, the general purpose governments of the Snohomish Subregion have <br /> 14 a long history of cooperation as evidenced by their continuous participation in the <br /> 15 Snohomish Subregional Council of the Puget Sound Council of Governments; <br /> 16 NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the City of Everett agrees <br /> 17 to participate in the Snohomish Subregion Energy Planning Policy Council <br /> 18 (hereinafter "Energy Council") to be in accordance with the Memorandum of <br /> 19 Understanding between the Snohomish County Public Utility District No. 1 (the <br /> 20 PUD) the general purpose governments of Snohomish County, and the Snohomish <br /> 21 Subregional Council of the Puget Sound Council of Governments, signed by the PUD <br /> 22 June 22, 1982, and hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign the Memorandum of <br /> 23 Understanding for participation on the Energy Council. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 6� 1•,' <br /> Councilman I ro ucing Resolution <br /> 26 <br /> 27 PASSED this a day of � , 1982. <br /> 28 - �'� <br /> 29 -- <br /> buncil President <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
