' CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> ' mechanical or electrical failure of the dewatering system shall be Contractor's <br /> responsibility to repair at no cost to the City. <br /> ' 7-08.3(2)A Survey Line and Grade <br /> Delete both paragraphs of 7-08.3(2)A and substitute the following: <br /> Provide surveys required to construct the sewer line including, but not limited <br /> ' to, alignment stakes, offset stakes, grade hubs, and intermediate staking. <br /> Use main survey control points shown on the Plans, unless Engineer directs <br /> otherwise. If a Bid item for "Surveying" is not listed in the Proposal, then this <br /> ' item shall be included with the Work with no direct compensation made. <br /> Provide laser control equipment approved by the Engineer for setting pipe <br /> grades. <br /> ' 7-08.3(2)H Sewer Line Connections <br /> Supplement 7-08.3(2)H by adding the following: <br /> Reconnect existing storm drain lines to new sanitary sewer line in accordance <br /> ' with the Plans, these Special Provisions and the Standard Specifications. <br /> Provide a minimum 8-inch diameter pipe for new storm drain line. Provide <br /> manufactured couplers for joining dissimilar size and type of existing storm <br /> ' drain line pipe. <br /> Engineer will not allow vertical connections of drain lines to sewer main <br /> ' between manholes without Engineer's prior approval. <br /> Reconnecting drain lines shall be included with the Work with no direct <br /> compensation made. <br /> ' 7-08.3(3) Backfilling <br /> Delete the first paragraph of 7-08.3(3) and substitute the following: <br /> Perform trench backfilling only after inspection and approval of the installed pipe <br /> ' bedding zone backfill. Refer to COE Standard Drawing No. 614, 615, 620 and the <br /> Plans for typical trench section backfill and compaction requirements. <br /> If the Engineer determines native material is not suitable for use as trench backfill, <br /> use "Gravel Borrow" conforming to 9-03.14(1) of the Standard Specifications. <br /> If there is an excess of suitable backfill material obtained from trench excavation <br /> at one location on the project, use it at other locations on the project or dispose of <br /> ' at an approved disposal site. The cost of transporting the excess backfill material <br /> is considered incidental to the Contract with no direct compensation made. <br /> Use Controlled Density Fill in lieu of select trench backfill for fill above pipe zone <br /> at street crossings and as directed by the Engineer in other areas where in order <br /> to prevent pavement patch settlement requires high density backfill placement or <br /> effective backfill compaction is not possible. Intersections with alleys are not <br /> ' considered street crossings. <br /> 7-08.3(4) Plugging Existing Pipe <br /> Delete the first paragraph of 7-08.3(4) and substitute the following: <br /> tWhere shown on the plans to plug and seal existing water main, sanitary sewer <br /> and storm drainage pipe plug existing pipe a minimum distance of 2-feet from the <br /> inlet end with cement grout and abandon in place. <br /> 7-08.4 Measurement <br /> Delete all paragraphs in 7-08.4 and substitute the following: <br /> Sewer Regulators R4 and Division 7—STORM, SEWER,WATER May 2017 <br /> R39 Modifications <br /> WO No.—UP3633 SP- 161 <br />
