CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> Coordination: Manufacturer and Contractor shall coordinate design/requirements with <br /> precast concrete supplier. <br /> ' 7-11.1(2) Definitions <br /> Grating: 1-1/2 inch minimum molded grating with capacity of 125 psf live loading. <br /> Structural Shapes: I-Beam profiles (6x6 minimum) capable of support of grating to <br /> meet requirements of the Construction Documents. <br /> Accessories: As needed to meet project requirements and properly secure and <br /> connect components. <br /> 1 7-11.1(3) Submittals <br /> In accordance with the requirements of Section 1-06, submit the following product <br /> technical data and information: <br /> 1. Manufacturer's technical data and information for grating and structural <br /> shapes to verify conformance with the Contract Documents <br /> 2. Structural calculations that demonstrate that the design meets load criteria <br /> 3. Shop drawings showing layout, dimensions, tolerances, construction details, <br /> and other pertinent installation information. <br /> 4. Upon request, submit sample pieces of each item specified herein for <br /> ' acceptance by the owner as to quality and color. Sample pieces shall be <br /> manufactured by the method to be used for the installed components. <br /> 7-11.2 Materials <br /> ' 7-11.2(1) Acceptable Manufacturers <br /> Subject to compliance with the Contract Documents, the following manufacturers are <br /> acceptable: <br /> 1. Fibergrate Molded Grating <br /> 2. Duraform Structural Shapes <br /> ' <br /> 7-11.3. Approved equals <br /> 2(2) Structural Shapes— Materials and Fabrication <br /> A. All structural shapes are to be manufactured by the puitrusion process with a <br /> glass content minimum of 45%, maximum of 55% by weight. The structural <br /> shapes shall be composed of fiberglass reinforcement and resin in qualities, <br /> quantities, properties, arrangements and dimensions as necessary to meet <br /> the design requirements and dimensions as specified in the Contract <br /> Documents. <br /> B. Fiberglass reinforcement shall be a combination of continuous roving, <br /> continuous strand mat, and surfacing veil in sufficient quantities as needed by <br /> the application and/or physical properties required. <br /> C. Resins shall be ISOFR, fire retardant isophthalic polyester with chemical <br /> formulation necessary to provide the corrosion resistance, strength and other <br /> physical properties as required. <br /> D. All finished surfaces of FRP items and fabrications shall be smooth, <br /> resin-rich, free of voids and without dry spots, cracks, crazes or unreinforced <br /> areas. All glass fibers shall be well covered with resin to protect against their <br /> exposure due to wear or weathering. <br /> E. All pultruded structural shapes shall be further protected from ultraviolet (UV) <br /> attack with 1) integral UV inhibitors in the resin and 2) a synthetic surfacing <br /> veil to produce a resin rich surface. <br /> F. All fire retardant FRP products shall have a tested flame spread rating of 25 <br /> ' or less per ASTM E-84 Tunnel Test. <br /> G.
