I <br /> CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 1 <br /> 1-05.3 Working Drawings <br /> IDelete all of 1-05.3 and substitute the following: <br /> After Award of the Contract, the Contractor will receive up to six (6) sets of the reduced <br /> Plans (11" x 17") and accompanying Special Provisions. In addition, the Owner will <br /> I supply up to three (3) sets of full size plans (22" x 34"). All Plans and Special <br /> Provisions will be conformed with addenda unless Contractor requests otherwise. <br /> Additional Plans and Special Provisions may be purchased by payment of the current <br /> Iprinting costs. <br /> The Contract Documents include Plans that show such details as are reasonably <br /> necessary to give a comprehensive understanding of the Work. The Contractor shall <br /> I submit alterations affecting the requirements and information in the Plans in writing to <br /> the Engineer for approval prior to performing such Work. <br /> The Engineer may supplement the Plans with additional drawings and explanations, <br /> Iconsistent with the purpose and intent of the original Plans, to detail and illustrate the <br /> Work. The Contractor shall perform the Work according to these supplemental <br /> drawings and explanations. <br /> IIn addition to supplemental drawings furnished by the Engineer, the Contract <br /> Documents may also be supplemented by shop drawings prepared by the Contractor, <br /> material supplier, or manufacturer, when necessary or as required by the Contract <br /> I Documents to detail and illustrate portions of the Work. Shop drawings shall be <br /> reviewed by the Engineer before work pursuant to those shop drawings is performed. <br /> Shop drawings may include, but not be limited to, shop details, erection plans, <br /> I masonry lay-out diagrams, reinforcing steel and bending diagrams, post tensioning <br /> plans, shoring, cribbing, cofferdam, or falsework plans, formwork plans, or hydraulic <br /> items. Catalog cuts or standard plans for commonly used manufactured items will be <br /> I considered as shop drawings. <br /> Unless otherwise requested by the Engineer, the Contractor shall submit six (6) <br /> hardcopies of complete sets of shop drawings or one electronic set in either PDF or <br /> ,I DWG formats directly to the Engineer for review and approval. If the design engineer <br /> is a full time employee of the City, the Contractor may expect fourteen (14) calendar <br /> days from submission for review and return of comments. If the design engineer is not <br /> I a full time employee of the City, the Contractor should expect thirty (30) calendar days <br /> from submission for review and return of comments. The Engineer may extend this <br /> time for good cause by notifying the Contractor. The Engineer will check and return <br /> I three (3) hardcopies or one electronic set of such drawings. On all Submittals of a <br /> drawing after the drawing's initial Submittal and return, the Contractor shall: make any <br /> corrections required by the Engineer; expressly and explicitly notify the Engineer in <br /> writing of any and all deviations from the specifications and all revisions other than the <br /> I corrections called for by the Engineer on previous Submittals; and return three (3) <br /> corrected hardcopies of the drawings or one corrected electronic drawing for the <br /> Engineer's further review. The Contractor shall plan on at least fourteen (14) calendar <br /> I days from the date of Engineer's receipt for the Engineer's review, comment, and <br /> return of submitted drawings. Some shop drawings may require more than six (6) <br /> hardcopies. The Contractor shall furnish additional hardcopies when requested. <br /> I The Contractor shall be fully responsible for the accuracy of dimensions and details on <br /> shop drawings, and for complete conformity with the Contract Documents, even if the <br /> shop drawings have been approved by the Engineer, or if the Contractor and the <br /> I Engineer agree on dimensions and details.
