I <br /> CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> I <br /> shall be sequentially numbered for all periods in which Work has been done. A <br /> I certificate of completion for the Work, signed by the City, will constitute <br /> acceptance of the Work. The issuance of this certificate of completion will not <br /> constitute acceptance of unauthorized or defective Work or material is performed. <br /> I. 1-07.11 Requirements for Nondiscrimination <br /> Supplement 1-07.11 as follows: <br /> I The Contractor will be required to assure that equal employment opportunities will be <br /> in effect to all individuals throughout the length of this Contract, pursuant to 1-07.11 <br /> REQUIREMENTS FOR NONDISCRIMINATION. The Contractor must comply with all <br /> local, state and federal laws pertaining to non-discrimination and equal employment <br /> Iopportunity. <br /> The City of Everett hereby gives public notice that it is the City's policy to assure full <br /> compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil rights Restoration Act <br /> I of 1987, and related statutes and regulations in all programs and activities. Title VI <br /> requires that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin be <br /> excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to <br /> II discrimination under any Federal Aid Highway program or other activity for which the <br /> City receives Federal financial assistance. <br /> Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory <br /> I practice under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint with the City of Everett. Any <br /> such complaint shall be in writing and filed with the City's Title VI Coordinator within <br /> 180 calendar days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence. Title VI <br /> I Discrimination Complaint Forms may be obtained from the Human Resources office at <br /> no cost to the complainant by calling (425) 257-8767. <br /> Notification specific to bidders: <br /> I All bidders are hereby notified that the City of Everett will affirmatively ensure that <br /> in any contract entered into pursuant to this Invitation to Bid, minority business <br /> enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this <br /> I invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, <br /> or national origin in consideration for an Award. <br /> Title VI Assurance <br /> I a. The Contractor, with regard to the Work performed during the Contract, shall not <br /> discriminate on the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in the selection and <br /> retention of subcontractors, including procurement of materials and leases of <br /> I equipment. The Contractor shall not participate either directly or indirectly in such <br /> discrimination, including discrimination in employment practices. <br /> b. In all solicitations either by competitive bidding or negotiations made by the <br /> I Contractor for Work to be performed under a subcontract, including procurement of <br /> materials or leases of equipment, each potential Subcontractor or suppler shall be <br /> notified by the Contractor of the Contractor's obligations under this Contract. <br /> I c. The Contractor shall provide all information and reports required by federal <br /> regulations applicable to this Contract. The Contractor shall permit access to its <br /> books, records, accounts, other sources of information, and its facilities as may be <br /> I determined by the City to be pertinent to ascertain compliance with applicable <br /> federal regulations.
