Council approved the ordinance in advance of the <br /> soliciting construction bids for the improvement project. Council approved a contract with Alpine <br /> Waterproofing&Masonry Restoration on July 6,2016 in the amount of$404,000 plus Washington State <br /> Sales Tax (WSST)to construct the improvement project. Subsequently, Council approved Change Order <br /> No. 1 on November 9,2016 in the amount of$246,620 plus WSST for a revised construction cost of <br /> $650,620 plus WSST. <br /> The project is now in the final stage of construction. At this point, staff recommends that a new funding <br /> ordinance be created and Ordinance 3481-16 be repealed. The new ordinance will provide sufficient funds to <br /> pay all anticipated improvement project costs through project completion. The project is anticipated to be <br /> completed by the end of May 2017. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Adopt an Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled"Police Headquarters Masonry <br /> Restoration Project", Fund 342, Program 020, to accumulate all costs for the improvement project and <br /> repealing Ordinance 3481-16. 21 <br />
