6 <br /> -The entire area on Casino Road from Evergreen Way to Airport Road and <br /> two blocks north and south of Casino Road is a current SODA area and <br /> believe should remain so for the next two years. ACT conducted an extensive <br /> narcotics investigation involving the area of 5th and West Casino. We have <br /> found that drug transactions in this area are very commonly associated with <br /> violent street gangs. There was a murder in the 1000 block of West Casino <br /> where narcotics were involved. We have conducted interdiction operations in <br /> the area of Casino Rd. In one operation we observed three separate vehicles <br /> involved in drug transaction in a period of 2 hour at the same location on <br /> Casino. A narcotics K-9 detected narcotic odor on all three vehicle. Narcotic <br /> search warrants were served on all three vehicles, drugs, drug paraphernalia <br /> and a stolen pistol were recovered. <br /> 177.to po Rd ; - <br /> -�-- -6 IN _= - � - -• •,�: �.,•.- 4000! <br /> % <br /> Airport Rd Evergreeny <br /> -The area from 1000 block to the 3200 block of Hewitt Avenue and two blocks <br /> north and south of this area is a current SODA area and I believe should <br /> remain so for the next two years. This area contains several bars and the <br /> Everett Events Center. ACT has made arrests for narcotics related crimes in <br /> this area. Crime analysis shows drug activity in this area to spread about the <br /> downtown core. We have received complaints about narcotic activity and <br /> made drug arrest throughout this area. With the continued economic and <br /> residential development of the downtown core a SODA designation will assist <br /> in reducing crime in the area. <br /> Page 5 of 9 <br /> 51 <br />
