Meet with Primary Jurisdiction Agency Incident Commander or designee. <br /> 2. Obtain comprehensive incident briefing from the Primary Jurisdiction Incident <br /> • Commander. <br /> 3. Establish (CART assignments and operations. <br /> As the activation continues, the ICART Commander will: <br /> 1. Coordinate all activities of ICART with Incident Command. <br /> 2. Determine time span of operational period for ICART personnel after consulting <br /> with Incident Commander. . <br /> 3. Begin process to designate alternate ICART Commander and notification of <br /> alternate (CART personnel for next operational period. <br /> 4. Coordinate critical incident briefings every four hours during the first 24-hour <br /> period. <br /> 5. After the first 24 hours, critical incident briefings will be conducted as appropriate <br /> • based on case.activity. . <br /> At 72 hours, a briefing shall be conducted for the ICART team and the primary <br /> jurisdiction. This briefing will discuss: <br /> 1. Investigation status report <br /> 2. Documentation report . . <br /> 3. Consultation with Incident Command of the Primary Jurisdiction as to <br /> continuation of ICART activation <br /> Public Information/Media Releases <br /> An ICART Public Information Officer (PIO) will be at all investigation scenes to address <br /> the media. If there is a large media presence, the ICART Commander shall designate a <br /> media staging area. The PIO serves as an information conduit to the organized media. <br /> It is imperative that the ICART PIO provide only accurate, objective and factual <br /> responses to media inquiries. <br /> Once ICART has initiated an investigation, all media releases related to the <br /> investigation shall only be made by the ICART PIO with the approval of the ICART <br /> Commander. <br /> 13 <br /> • 67 <br />
