Assist in the process to identify suspect(s), additional victims, additional offenses, <br /> locations, and physical evidence pertinent to the investigative process <br /> 3. Assist in ensuring that child victim has access to appropriate long term medical <br /> and psychological care; or <br /> 4. Assist in the process of determining appropriate placement of child after recovery <br /> and evaluation of the safety of original residence location and person(s) with care <br /> or guardianship., <br /> SECTION 11: COMMUNITY <br /> Outreach and Education . <br /> Community outreach is a vital component in preventing children from going missing and <br /> • being exploited or abducted. Proactive measures should be taken to educate adults and <br /> children on the importance of child safety and Internet safety. <br /> Online Outreach <br /> The ICART will establish a website dedicated to educating the public on child safety and <br /> preventing child abductions, including tips on Internet safety and stranger danger. The <br /> website may also include links to the following resources: <br /> 1. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children <br /> 2. Polly Klaas Foundation <br /> 3. Washington State Department of Social & Health Services - Child Protective <br /> Services <br /> • <br /> The website may include a corresponding Facebook page, which will be utilized to post <br /> information on current abductions and child safety issues in the news. The ICART <br /> Public Information Officer will be.responsible for maintaining and updating the website <br /> and Facebookpage including all responsibilities related to compliance with Washington <br /> record retention requirements. All jurisdictions represented on ICART will link their <br /> department websites to the ICART website if possible. <br /> Educational Materials • <br /> The ICART will create and distribute pamphlets dedicated to educating the public on <br /> child safety and preventing child abductions, including tips on internet safety and • <br /> stranger danger. The pamphlets will be distributed to all school districts, child advocacy <br /> centers, and child protective service centers in the jurisdictions represented in (CART. <br /> The pamphlets will also be made available for distribution by school resource officers <br /> • <br /> 21 <br /> 75 <br />
