ICART personnel with training and background in victim and child advocacy will <br /> play a crucial role in any team activation and will be involved in the investigative • <br /> process. <br /> The ICART Victim Services Supervisor will assign an advocate to the victim and family. <br /> Some of the duties of the designated Victim/Family Advocate/Liaison personnel will <br /> include: <br /> • <br /> 1. Provide support for child victim family throughout the investigative process <br /> 2. Allow law enforcement to direct all information regarding the investigative facts <br /> and progress of the case to be communicated with the family <br /> 3. Assist law enforcement in building and establishing rapport with the child victim <br /> family during investigative process <br /> 4. Assist law enforcement in obtaining victim information for victimology and <br /> investigative leads, including but not limited to: <br /> a. Cell phone information <br /> b. Internet usage <br /> • <br /> c. Friends • <br /> d. Siblings <br /> e. Habits <br /> f. Medical information <br /> g.Areas of interest <br /> h. Historical information <br /> 5. Assist law enforcement in maintaining productive relationship with child victim <br /> family • <br /> 6. Provide guidance and insight to investigative personnel regarding child victim • <br /> family members, issues and dynamics <br /> 7. Assist law enforcement and child victim family with media issues <br /> 8. Assist in reunification process of child victim and family <br /> 9. Assist in notifications to child victim family <br /> 10.Assist in providing services and referrals to witnesses and close family <br /> associates impacted by the incident <br /> 11.Assist prosecutorial office and child victim family during subsequent judicial <br /> proceedings <br /> 12. Assist victims in the prompt.return or replacement of property seized as <br /> evidence when appropriate; or <br /> 13.Assist child victim and/or family in obtaining appropriate assistance from service <br /> agencies beyond scope of ICART personnel <br /> Recovery Reunification <br /> Duties pertaining to the reunification process involving ICART Victim/Family <br /> Advocate/Liaison personnel may include: <br /> 20 <br /> • <br /> • <br /> 74 <br />
