C. The BIM Model will be used as the primary method for design review with the client.
The only drawings generated at 50% will be a Site Plan, pipe profiles, typical civil
details, hydraulic profile, overall plan and section for the chlorine building and outfall
structure with limited notation, and programmatic system drawings (Electrical One-
line, Electrical Site Plan, Control Network Communication Diagram, and
P&ID's). Detailed design documents will be created and submitted for the 90%
design review along with the Model. Design drawings will be generated from the BIM
Model.
D. Specifications for each division and section noted in Appendix 2.
4. Develop an updated Engineering Report(maximum of 30 pages, not including appendices)
based on the preliminary design technical memorandums. This report will serve as the
basis of design and for submission to the DOE. The report will address each of the
following items:
A. Project intent and design criteria.
B. Review of design standards and codes.
C. Disinfection design and plant capacity.
D. CFD model results for mixing and chlorine injection.
E. Updated culvert design and hydraulic profile.
F. Electrical and Instrumentation design criteria and preliminary load analysis.
G. Structural design criteria and preliminary shoring plan for the existing primary
sedimentation tanks.
H. Recommended equipment manufacturers for major components.
I. Preliminary 2D plan view drawings: P&IDs, electrical one-line diagrams,•site plan.
5. Update the Preliminary Engineer's Estimate of Probable Construction Cost. Estimate of the
construction cost will follow the expected level of accuracy for an Associate for the
Advancement of Cost Engineering Class 3 estimate.
6. Respond to Everett's comments in the provided Comment Log.
7. 50% Design Workshop:
A. Conduct a half-day workshop with City staff to review the BIM model and any
comments on the 50% level design and determine the approach to produce 90%
level documents.
B.
