August 30, 2017 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m., August 30, 2017, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. <br /> Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Tuohy presiding. Upon roll call, <br /> it was found that Council Members Moore, Murphy, Franklin, Bader, <br /> Stonecipher and Tuohy were present. Mayor Stephanson and Council <br /> Member Roberts were excused. <br /> Council Member Franklin led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the August 23, 2017, City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. Council Member Stonecipher abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson was excused. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Moore thanked City staff and non-profit organizations for <br /> working on events such as the Bubble Run and Food Truck Festival. <br /> Council Member Franklin provided a recap from the Public Safety <br /> Subcommittee meeting. She also announced the next Public Safety <br /> Subcommittee meeting is scheduled on September 6 at 5:15 p.m. <br /> Council Member Bader wished everyone a happy Labor Day weekend and <br /> thanked everyone who works for the City. <br /> Council Member Murphy announced the Budget and Finance <br /> Subcommittee is scheduled to meet on September 13 at 5:15 p.m. Council <br /> Member Murphy stated that he would like to recuse himself from today's <br /> briefing on Items 12 and 13 related to a potential purchase by the City of <br /> the Snohomish County Health District building. He stated that he is working <br /> with the City Attorney to determine what role he can have in this process. <br /> 290 <br />
