WHEREAS, Following the public hearing the Planning Commission did resolve to recommend <br /> to City Council that the proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and rezone be <br /> approved. <br /> WHEREAS, THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL FINDS: <br /> 1. The purpose for the requested Comprehensive Plan land use map amendment and rezone <br /> is to establish the subject site as a public park owned and managed by the City of Everett; <br /> and <br /> 2. To achieve the proposed land use policy amendments and zone change, the City needs to <br /> amend Comprehensive Plan map designations from 1.3 (Single Family) to 2.0 (Park/ <br /> Public Open Space) and rezone the site from R-2 (Single Family) To P (Public Park <br /> Zone); and <br /> WHEREAS CITY COUNCIL CONCLUDES: <br /> 1. The public health safety and welfare would be provided for by the proposal under <br /> existing development regulations of the City; and, <br /> 2. The proposed amendment to the land use map and rezone promotes the best long term <br /> interest of the Everett Community. <br /> 3. The approval as requested does not constitute a grant of special privilege to the City. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Approval of Comprehensive Plan amendment. Ordinance No. 2021-94, as <br /> amended, is hereby amended as follows. <br /> 1. The Comprehensive Plan map designation is hereby amended for the subject property <br /> from 1.3 (Single Family) to 2.0 (Park/Public Open Space) (Exhibit A). <br /> Section 2: Section 2.020 of Ordinance No. 1671-89, as amended (EMC 19.02.020), is <br /> hereby amended as follows: <br /> 1. The zoning of the site is hereby changed from R-2 (Single Family) To P (Public Park <br /> Zone), (Exhibit B). <br /> - 2 - <br />
