• <br /> 1• f <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1769-91 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending the exemption section of the Massage Parlor <br /> Licensing Ordinance, Chapter 24, Section 2 of Ordinance No. <br /> 295-74 (Everett Municipal Code 5.96.020) . <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> SECTION 1 : Chapter 24, Section 2 of Ordinance No. 295-74 (E.M.C. 5.96.020) <br /> as amended by Ordinance No. 1475-88 which reads as follows: <br /> Exemptions. <br /> The provisions of this title do not apply to: <br /> A. Persons giving massage treatments in their private <br /> residence to members of their immediate family; persons <br /> giving massage treatments as part of a non-profit research <br /> program; or persons giving massage treatments in a bona <br /> fide non-profit charitable private social club or a bona <br /> fide athletic club not open to the public generally; <br /> B. Athletic coaches or trainers affiliated with public or <br /> private educational institutions or athletic organizations; <br /> C. Students enrolled in schools of massage performing such <br /> practices of massage as are incidental to their course of <br /> study; <br /> D. Massage treatments given by physicians, surgeons, <br /> chiropractors, osteopaths, accupuncturists, physical <br /> therapists or naturopathics who are duly licensed or <br /> certified to practice their respective profession in the <br /> State of Washington; <br /> E. Persons practicing massage under the direct supervision of <br /> physicians, surgeons, chiropractors; osteopaths, <br /> accupuncturists, physical therapists or naturopathics duly <br /> licensed by the State of Washington. Direct supervision <br /> shall mean that the massage is given on the premises of or <br /> in the presence of such physicians, surgeons, <br /> chiropractors, osteopaths, accupuncturists, physical <br /> therapists or naturopathics; <br />
