• 1 Section 4: Planning Commission - Selection, Vacancies, Removal. 2 Vacancies occurring otherwise than by expiration of terms shall be filled 3 for the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointment was 4 made as set forth in Section 5.2 of the City of Everett. Members, 5 including alternates, may be removed by the Mayor, with the approval of the 6 majority of the City Council, for neglect of duty, malfeasance or 7 misfeasance in office, or when such appointee misses three (3) successive 8 regular meetings. Members shall be selected without respect to political 9 affiliations, shall serve without compensation, and the appointees shall 10 constitute a cross section of the community representing different 11 interests, geographical areas, trades, professions and activities. 12 13 Section 5: Expenses. The Planning Commission is a duly created and 14 an approved commission for the purpose of reimbursement of expenses which 15 expenses are incurred in the performance of the Commission's duties 16 pursuant to Chapter 2.76 EMC. 17 18 Section 6: Meetings - Offices - Notice - Rules. The Planning 19 Commission shall elect its own chairperson and may create and fill such 20 offices as it determines it requires. The Planning Commission shall hold 21 at least one regular meeting in each month for not less than nine months in 22 each year. Regular meetings shall be open to the public and shall be 23 scheduled for a regular time and place. Notice of time, place and purpose 24 of any special meetings shall be given as provided by law. The Planning 25 Commission may hold executive sessions, from which the public is excluded, 26 in accordance with State law. The Planning Commission shall adopt rules 27 for transaction of business and shall keep a written record of its meetings. 28 29 30 31 32 -2-
