1 Section 7: General Powers - Duties of Planning Commission. In 2 addition to other powers and duties set forth elsewhere in this ordinance 3 and provided by State law, the Planning Commission shall be given the 4 powers and duties hereinafter set forth: 5 A. To recommend to the Mayor and Council programs for public 6 works and civic improvements; 7 B. To publish and distribute copies of status reports of 8 activities of the Planning Commission which may include plans 9 and official recommendations made by the commission in the 10 regular exercise of its duties, as set forth in this chapter; 11 C. To consult and advise with public officials and agencies, 12 public utility and service providers, civic, educational, 13 professional, and other organizations and citizens in relation 14 to its plans and recommendations prepared by it; 15 D. To request all public officials to furnish, within a 16 reasonable time, such available information to assist in 17 formulating the commission's plans and recommendations; 18 E. To exercise such authority as may be necessary to enable it to 19 fulfill its functions, promote planning and carry out the 20 purposes of this ordinance. 21 F. To conduct, upon request by the Mayor or Council, an 22 investigation and submit a report, plan, map or recommendation 23 in connection with any matter relating to the physical 24 development of the City. 25 26 Section 8: Public Improvements - Recommendation and report. The 27 Mayor or Council may request a report and recommendation by the Planning 28 Commission concerning any street, park, public way, public building, or 29 structure being constructed, dedicated, or vacated.
