1 ORDINANCE NO./ ' 'c — 90 <br /> 2 <br /> 3 AN ORDINANCE amending the Uniform Housing Code, Ordinance No. <br /> 1613-89. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 6 Section 1 : Section 2(B) of Ordinance No. 1613-89 which amended <br /> Chapter 2, Section 201 (a) of the Uniform Housing Code, 1988 Edition, to read <br /> 8 as follows: <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Sec. 201 (a) Authority. The building official and his designee <br /> are hereby authorized and directed to enforce all of the <br /> 11 provisions of this code. For such purposes, they shall be <br /> empowered to adopt and enforce rules and regulations to clarify <br /> 12 and expand the provisions of this code in conformity with the <br /> spirit and intent of its stated purpose. All references in this <br /> 13 code to building official shall include the building official ' s <br /> designee. <br /> 14 The building official or his designee with the approval of the <br /> 15 building official may appoint such number of technical officers <br /> and inspectors and other employees as shall be authorized from <br /> 16 time to time. Such inspectors or employees may be deputized as <br /> may be necessary to carry out the functions of the code <br /> 17 enforcement agency. <br /> 18 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Sec. 201 (a) Authority. For such purposes, they shall be empowered <br /> to adopt and enforce rules and regulations to clarify and expand <br /> 23 the provisions of this code and the Uniform Code for the <br /> Abatement of Dangerous Buildings in conformity with the spirit <br /> 24 and intent of its stated purpose. All references in these codes <br /> to building official shall include the building official ' s <br /> 25 designee. <br /> 26 The building official or his designee with the approval of the <br /> building official may appoint such number of technical officers <br /> 27 and inspectors and other employees as shall be authorized from <br /> time to time.
