It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or <br /> corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, <br /> 2 improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, occupy or <br /> maintain any building or structure or cause or permit the same to <br /> 3 be in violation of this code. <br /> 4 Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of <br /> this code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon <br /> 5 conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed <br /> one thousand dollars ($1 ,000) or by imprisonment in jail not to <br /> 6 exceed ninety (90) days, or both fine and imprisonment. Each <br /> separate day or any portion thereof, during which any violation <br /> 7 of this Code occurs or continues, shall be deemed to constitute a <br /> separate offense and, upon conviction thereof, shall be <br /> 8 punishable as herein provided. The issuance or granting of a <br /> permit or approval of plans and specifications shall not be <br /> 9 deemed or construed to be a permit for, or an approval of, any <br /> violation of any of the provisions of this Code. No permit <br /> 10 presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions <br /> of this Code shall be valid, except insofar as the work or use <br /> 11 which it authorized is lawful . <br /> 12 <br /> Section 2: Section 2( I ) of Ordinance No. 1610-89 which adds the <br /> 13 <br /> following to the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1988 <br /> 14 <br /> Edition: <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Chapter 10: Emergency Procedure. <br /> 17 City Council Action. In cases where it reasonably appears <br /> that there is immediate danger to the life or safety of any <br /> 18 person unless a dangerous building is immediately repaired, <br /> secured, vacated or demolished, the Building Official shall <br /> 19 report the facts to the City Council of the City of Everett and <br /> the City Council may cause a resolution to be passed authorizing <br /> 20 the Building Official to affect the immediate repair, securing, <br /> vacation or demolition of the dangerous building.
