• 1 ORDINANCE NO. / - 9j 2 AN ORDINANCE establishing sick leave for appointive officers with 3 the exception of those individuals covered by LEOFF I Retirement and amending Section 1 .E. of Ordinance 4 No. 1594-89. 5 6 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 7 Section 1 : Section 1 .E. of Ordinance No. 1594-89 which reads as 8 follows: 9 Section 1 : 10 E. The City shall grant Appointive Officers leave of absence 11 with pay for the following reasons: 12 1 . Funeral Leave: When approved by the Mayor, Appointive Officers shall be granted reasonably 13 necessary time off with pay to assist with funeral arrangements and to attend funeral services. 14 2. Sick Leave: Upon employment with the City, 15 Appointive Officers shall have available immediately ten (10) days of sick leave with pay. All Appointive 16 Officers shall accrue sick leave at a rate of two (2) days per month to a total maximum of one hundred and 17 twenty (120) work days. While still actively employed with the City of Everett, should any monthly 18 disability payment be made to the Appointive Officer as a benefit resulting from any insurance coverage 19 provided by the City, the City shall only pay the difference between the amount of the benefit and the 20 Appointive Officer's normal monthly salary. In no case, shall such sick leave payment exceed one 21 hundred and twenty (120) work days at eight (8) hours per day. 22 23 is hereby amended to read as follows: 24 Section 1 : 25 E.
