• <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. / - 9j <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing sick leave for appointive officers with <br /> 3 the exception of those individuals covered by LEOFF I <br /> Retirement and amending Section 1 .E. of Ordinance <br /> 4 No. 1594-89. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 7 Section 1 : Section 1 .E. of Ordinance No. 1594-89 which reads as <br /> 8 follows: <br /> 9 Section 1 : <br /> 10 E. The City shall grant Appointive Officers leave of absence <br /> 11 with pay for the following reasons: <br /> 12 1 . Funeral Leave: When approved by the Mayor, <br /> Appointive Officers shall be granted reasonably <br /> 13 necessary time off with pay to assist with funeral <br /> arrangements and to attend funeral services. <br /> 14 2. Sick Leave: Upon employment with the City, <br /> 15 Appointive Officers shall have available immediately <br /> ten (10) days of sick leave with pay. All Appointive <br /> 16 Officers shall accrue sick leave at a rate of two (2) <br /> days per month to a total maximum of one hundred and <br /> 17 twenty (120) work days. While still actively <br /> employed with the City of Everett, should any monthly <br /> 18 disability payment be made to the Appointive Officer <br /> as a benefit resulting from any insurance coverage <br /> 19 provided by the City, the City shall only pay the <br /> difference between the amount of the benefit and the <br /> 20 Appointive Officer's normal monthly salary. In no <br /> case, shall such sick leave payment exceed one <br /> 21 hundred and twenty (120) work days at eight (8) hours <br /> per day. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 24 <br /> Section 1 : <br /> 25 <br /> E. The City shall grant Appointive Officers leave of absence <br /> 26 with pay for the following reasons: <br /> 27 1 .
