EXHIBIT A-1 - SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Task 4-Provide Geotechnical Design Recommendations <br /> a. Describe site conditions including detailed subsurface soil conditions encountered based <br /> on results of Tasks 1 and 3 above. Provide a geologic description of the area based on <br /> published information and geotechnical consultant's experience in the area. <br /> b. Provide recommendations for earthwork and site preparation including suitability of <br /> on-site soils for reuse in trench backfill, placement and compaction of trench backfill, <br /> and mitigation of unsuitable soil conditions. Include an evaluation of the effects of <br /> weather and/or construction equipment on site soils. <br /> c. Perform engineering analyses and provide conclusions and recommendations for <br /> conventional trenching techniques including the following: <br /> i. Geotechnical parameters for trench shoring design including lateral pressures, <br /> and partial shoring considerations; <br /> ii. Excavation and temporary slope considerations; <br /> iii. Pipe support including bedding and backfilling, the presence of inadequate pipe <br /> foundation conditions such that overexcavation may be necessary; and <br /> iv. Construction dewatering considerations including depth to ground water <br /> observed during drilling and estimated permeability coefficients based on <br /> laboratory sieve analyses. <br /> Task 5- Geotechnical Communications, Design Report, and Meetings <br /> a. Provide a Statement of Qualifications, not to exceed four pages, indicating ability to <br /> perform the tasks as noted in this RFP. Also include short resume of key personnel. <br /> b. Provide a summary of subsurface conditions encountered as information becomes <br /> available. <br /> c. Prepare a written report presenting conclusions and recommendations along with <br /> supporting boring logs, laboratory data, and other appropriate figures. <br /> Task 6- Project Milestones <br /> a. Provide detailed schedule based on August 9, 2017 NTP and final report submission on <br /> or before October 31, 2017. <br /> Task 7-Prevailing Wages <br /> a. Prevailing wages will apply to all drilling and traffic control labor operations. <br /> Task 8-Proposal Price <br /> a. Proposal price will be determined based on consultants estimated level of effort hours <br /> submitted times Consultants DSC times Consultants' audited overhead and profit plus <br /> expenses. COE allows a 5% markup on subcontractor's fees and no markup on <br /> expenses. <br /> b. Include a $2,000 contingency in total Proposal Price to allow for minor overruns or <br /> minor scope of work changes. <br /> 3 <br />
