EXHIBIT A-1 - SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Task 9 - Proposal Award <br /> a. Schedule will be a factor in selecting firm provided price is within 10% of the lowest <br /> proposal and final submission deadline is two weeks or more earlier than the lowest <br /> priced proposal. <br /> Geotechnical Consultant agrees to provide the following services based upon the RFP: <br /> A. Geotechnical Engineering Services Assumptions <br /> 1. Associated Earth Sciences, Inc (AESI), will contract the services of an Exploration <br /> Drilling Contractor to obtain soil and shallow ground water data (if encountered) by <br /> auger borings (maximum depth of 10 feet, up to 14 borings, approximately every one <br /> every block). <br /> 2. AESI will apply for the necessary Right of Way (ROW) permits prior to the exploration <br /> phase. <br /> 3. AESI will only contact the 1-800 utility locate service for locates in the ROW. <br /> 4. AESI will utilize a subcontractor to provide the needed signage and traffic control for <br /> each boring location. <br /> 5. No installation of piezometers will be made in the borings. <br /> 6. Up to three (3) samples will be tested for corrosion potential according to the DIPRA <br /> standard. <br /> 7. Laboratory testing will include: <br /> • 3 moisture content <br /> • 3 sieve analyses <br /> • 3 moisture density relationship <br /> 8. AESI will provide a soils report that includes boring logs, site plan, laboratory test <br /> results (moisture content, maximum density, particle size distribution, corrosion <br /> potential), and recommendations (backfill, mitigation of unsuitable soils, excavation <br /> and temporary slopes, erosion control, and dewatering as needed). <br /> Deliverables: <br /> • Two hard copies and one electronic copy of final soils report. <br /> Budget Estimate <br /> • See Attachment A for an itemized budget. <br /> Project Schedule <br /> • See Attachment B for an estimated schedule. <br /> The client will be notified of variations in the budget estimate. <br /> Additional geotechnical consulting, report preparation, and testing beyond the proposed scope <br /> of work, or project meetings will be performed on a time and materials basis in accordance with <br /> our Schedule of Charges, a copy of which is attached. <br /> 4 <br />
