i Ordinance No. 2947-06 Lig4„,7 An Ordinance relating to Unlawful Camping, Amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2129-96 (EMC 8.56.010) and Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2129-96 (EMC 8.56.030). Whereas, the City Council deems it important to promote public safety, health and welfare by preventing camping on public property unless so authorized by the Chief of Police in accordance with Everett Municipal Code Chapter 8.56 or otherwise by law; and Whereas, the City Council believes that it is appropriate to refine definitions in current City Unlawful Camping law to clarify when and under what circumstances use of camp paraphernalia is prohibited on public property; and Whereas, the City Council believes that it is appropriate to refine definitions in current Unlawful Camping law to clarify when and under what circumstances vehicles are considered camp facilities; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2129-96 (EMC 8.56.010), which reads as follows: Unlawful camping. It shall be unlawful for any person to camp, occupy camp facilities or use camp paraphernalia in the following areas, except as otherwise provided by ordinance or as permitted pursuant to EMC 8.56.060: A. Any park; B. Any street; C. Any publicly owned parking lot or publicly owned area, improved or unimproved. Be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Unlawful camping.
