October 18, 2017 Council Member Franklin spoke on her attendance at Leadership Day, sponsored by Leadership Snohomish County. She thanked the volunteers who helped clean up Maggie's Park this past weekend. She provided a liaison report from the Cascade View/Twin Creeks and Delta Neighborhood meetings. Additionally, she invited the public to attend a Beyond the Streets training series, November 2; Basic Crisis Communication Skills, and November 16; Understanding Mental Illness and Addiction. She encouraged citizens to sign up for the training on the City website. Council Member Bader commented on his attendance at the Master Builders Housing Affordability Summit held on Tuesday. Council Member Murphy reported on his attendance at the Monte Cristo Awards banquet. He provided a liaison report from the Delta Neighborhood meeting. He also provided an update from the Budget and Finance Subcommittee meeting, which was held prior to Council, and stated the next meeting is scheduled for November 8. Council Member Stonecipher commented on her attendance at the Cascade View/Twin Creeks Neighborhood meeting. Council Member Roberts provided an update on the Valley View Neighborhood meeting. He stated he is working with Legal regarding districting. He also stated the General Government Subcommittee will be working with Public Works regarding a new facility and the meetings are scheduled for November 1 and December 6. He stated that the Snohomish County Cities group is working on police incentive programs to increase police forces. President Tuohy reported on her attendance at the Monte Cristo Awards banquet. She reminded the public that the Council Retreat will be held this Saturday, October 21, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., in Council Chambers.
