October 25, 2017 <br /> COUNCIL BRIEFING AGENDA: <br /> COUNCIL BILL 1709-51 <br /> FIRST READING: <br /> AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for <br /> fiscal year commencing January 1, 2018, on all taxable property, <br /> both real and personal, subject to taxation thereon, for the purpose <br /> of raising a portion of the revenue to carry on City operations for the <br /> ensuing year, as required by the Charter of the City of Everett and <br /> the laws of the Sate of Washington <br /> Presented by Susy Haugen, Finance <br /> Council Member Murphy expressed his appreciation for the provided chart <br /> that shows that the City of Everett receives only 24% of property taxes, <br /> while 2/3 of the total taxes paid by typical Everett residence goes to the <br /> school system. <br /> Kent Peverly, Everett, expressed a concern on behalf of seniors about <br /> property tax increase. <br /> Memorandum of Understanding for Planning Coordination and <br /> Cooperation between the Puget Sound Regional Council and Central <br /> Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority(Sound Transit); Snohomish <br /> County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corporation (Community <br /> Transit); City of Everett, Transportation Services and other public <br /> transit agencies. <br /> Presented by Tom Hingson, Transportation Services <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the Agreement with Advanced Utility <br /> Systems for a utility billing software upgrade in the amount of <br /> $207,950, not including Washington State sales tax. <br /> Presented by Matt Welborn, Public Works <br /> 361 <br />
