The scope of work for this project includes replacing the current and failing McQuay Chiller with a new chiller and rebuilding the cooling tower. Replacement of the chiller and rebuild of the tower is required due to the age of equipment(25 years), periodic system failure and the difficulty in securing replacement parts. The requested funding amount of $350,000 is based on a pricing received through the City's Job Order Contracting process. The requested amount includes sales tax,fees and construction contingency. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Adopt an Ordinance creating a special construction fund entitled"Everett Performing Arts Building Chiller Replacement and Cooling Tower Rebuild Project",Fund 342,Program 024 to accumulate all costs for the construction project. 1
