Smith Island is located between the Snohomish River to the <br /> west and Union Slough to the east.There is a system of dikes around Smith Island that protect the island from <br /> much of the flooding that can occur due to high tides from Puget Sound and river flows from the Snohomish <br /> River.Much of the dike system on Smith Island is currently within Diking District 5 (DD5),and the DD5 <br /> currently maintains all dikes around Smith Island.Portions of the dike along Union Slough are in need of repair in <br /> accordance with the Army Corps of Engineers'2017 inspection due to erosion and scour along the slope of the <br /> dike facing the slough. <br /> Project Schedule <br /> Anticipated Completion Date: <br /> September- CRC anticipates completion of field investigation within 30 days of this signed contract.A final <br /> October 2017 report will be submitted within 30 days of fieldwork completion. <br /> Ballard Labs <br /> 1416 NW 46th'pV De 105 PMB346 <br /> _ ..,,, .,,,.,N, 90R RFA-A(19(1—wunu rrrwa.rom <br />
