December 23, 2015 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 12:30 p.m., December 23, 2015, in the City Council Chambers of the <br /> William E. Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Bader presiding. <br /> Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members <br /> Moore, Murphy, Gipson, Bader, Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. <br /> Council Member Roberts was excused. <br /> President Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the December 16, 2015, City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Fire Chief Murray Gordon introduced seven new Everett firefighters: <br /> Taylor Cannon, Ryan Coffey, Mark Farrar, Jakob Lundy, Kyle Lont, <br /> Jonathan Voos and Michael Wisler. Assistant Fire Chief Robert Edgley Jr. <br /> presented them with their badges. <br /> Mayor Stephanson commented on today's outreach meeting with <br /> representatives of the Iraqi community. He thanked President Bader and <br /> several staff members for their participation. Mayor wished everyone a <br /> Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council members echoed the Mayor's comments and wished citizens, <br /> staff, and colleagues a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. <br /> Council Member Murphy complimented Mayor and Fire Chief Gordon on <br /> hiring new firefighters. He suggested including a Charter Review <br /> Committee topic to the Council agenda for the first week of January 2016. <br /> President Bader confirmed that this topic will be included in the Council <br /> agenda for January 6, 2016. <br /> Council Member Gipson expressed his concern with the lack of diversity in <br /> the Everett Fire and Police Departments and suggested supporting the <br /> 415 <br />
