November 8, 2017 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m., November 8, 2017, in the City Council Chambers of the William <br /> E. Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Tuohy presiding. Upon roll <br /> call, it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, <br /> Moore, Murphy, Franklin, Bader, Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. <br /> Council Member Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the November 1, 2017, City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> OATH — POLICE OFFICER <br /> Moved by Council Member Franklin, seconded by Council Member <br /> Roberts, to concur with the appointment of Thomas Taylor as a new <br /> police officer. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The City Clerk administered the oath of office, and Mayor Stephanson <br /> presented Officer Taylor with his badge. <br /> Mayor Stephanson commented on the quality of the criminal justice <br /> program at Everett Community College. He stated discussions are being <br /> held about bringing a Washington State University bachelor's degree <br /> program in criminology to Everett. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Murphy provided a liaison report on the Budget <br /> Subcommittee meeting, which was held today. <br /> 385 <br />
