• <br /> 1 ORDINANCE No./.6.--, 4/- 2. <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing the non-salary items of compensation <br /> 3 granted the Appointive Officers, Classified Non-Represented <br /> Employees, and Elected Officials of the City of Everett and <br /> 4 repealing Ordinance No. 1319-86. <br /> 5 WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to provide to all <br /> 6 Appointive Officers and Classified Non-Represented Employees non-salary <br /> 7 <br /> items of compensation, commonly referred to as fringe benefits, which are <br /> 8 <br /> are at least comparable to those provided to private industry, other <br /> 9 <br /> governmental jurisdictions, and those provided to City employees represented <br /> 10 <br /> by labor organizations; and <br /> 11 WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to grant certain items <br /> 12 <br /> of non-salary compensation to the Elected Officials of the City of Everett; <br /> 13 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 14 <br /> Section 1 : APPOINTIVE OFFICERS: <br /> 15 <br /> A. The work week for all Appointive Officers of the City shall be <br /> 16 established by the Mayor in accordance with what s/he deems necessary and <br /> 17 <br /> appropriate for efficient functioning of the City government. Appointive <br /> 18 <br /> Officers who are FLSA exempt shall in no instance be accorded premium pay <br /> 19 <br /> for the following: overtime, call back or, if necessary, for working on a <br /> 20 <br /> holiday designated in this Ordinance. No Appointive Officer shall be <br /> 21 <br /> accorded premium pay for longevity. <br /> 22 <br /> B. The City shall provide an insurance plan for all Appointive <br /> 23 <br /> Officers comprised of the following: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 1 . Basic and major medical coverage for the Appointive Officer <br /> and his/her eligible dependents. <br /> 26 <br /> 2. A dental plan for the Appointive Officer and his/her <br /> 27 eligible dependents. <br /> 28 3. The face amount of life insurance and the principal sum of <br /> accidental death and dismemberment insurance for an <br /> 29 Appointive Officer under age 70 shall be equal to two times <br /> the Appointive Officer's basic annual earnings, rounded to <br /> 30 the next higher multiple of $1 ,000, if not already a <br /> multiple of $1 ,000 plus $2,000. The maximum face amount <br /> 31 and maximum principal sum shall each be $150,000. <br /> 32 <br />
