1 the several assessments appearing upon the roll . There is <br /> 2 levied and assessed against each lot, tract or parcel of land <br /> 3 and other property appearing upon the modified roll the amount <br /> 4 finally charged against the same thereon. <br /> 5 Section 3 . The assessment roll as thus approved and <br /> 6 confirmed shall be filed with the City Treasurer for collection <br /> 7 and the City Treasurer is authorized and directed to publish <br /> 8 notice as required by law stating that the roll is in his hands <br /> 9 for collection and that payment of any assessment thereon or any <br /> 10 portion of such assessment can be made at any time within thirty <br /> 11 days from date of first publication of such notice without <br /> 12 <br /> penalty,y, interest or cost, and that thereafter the sum remaining <br /> 13 unpaid may be paid in twenty equal annual installments . The <br /> 14 estimated interest rate is stated to be 8 . 5% per annum, with the <br /> 15 exact interest rate to be fixed in the ordinance authorizing the <br /> 16 issuance and sale of the local improvement bonds for Local <br /> 17 Improvement District No . 726 . The first installment of assess- <br /> 18 ments on the assessment roll shall become due and payable during <br /> 19 the thirty-day period succeeding the date one year after the <br /> 20 date of first publication by the City Treasurer of notice that <br /> 21 the assessment roll is in his hands for collection and annually <br /> 22 thereafter each succeeding installment shall become due and <br /> 23 payable in like manner . If the whole or any portion of the <br /> 24 assessment remains unpaid after the first thirty-day period, <br /> 25 interest upon the whole unpaid sum shall be charged at the rate <br /> - 4 - <br />
