t <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. /.6"—o 6 'a <br /> 2 AN ORDINANCE amending the rates for sewer service in the City <br /> of Everett and amending Sections lA and 18 of Ordinance <br /> 3 No. 1264-86 as amended by Ordinance 1437-88 (EMC 14.04.020 <br /> and 14.04.025) . <br /> 4 <br /> 5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that increased <br /> 6 sewer service charges are necessary to establish surface water quality <br /> 7 programs and capital improvements related to drainage and water quality; and <br /> 8 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the charges herein are reasonable; <br /> 9 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 10 Section 1 : Sections lA and 1B of Ordinance No. 1264-86 (EMC <br /> 11 14.04.020) , as amended by Ordinance No. 1437-88, which reads as follows: <br /> 12 <br /> The charges for the collection and disposal of sanitary sewage <br /> 13 waste for the classes of users connected and to be connected to <br /> the sanitary sewer system or the combined sewer system are hereby <br /> 14 fixed as follows: <br /> 15 A. Single family residence: $12.30 per month <br /> 16 (The monthly charge includes the current state utility tax. ) <br /> 17 B. For other than single family residence (multiple family <br /> residence, commercial and industrial users, etc. ) the rate <br /> 18 shall be computed in accordance with the following formula: <br /> 19 Sewer service charge per month = <br /> 20 Metered water usage X $12.30 <br /> 900 cubic feet <br /> 21 <br /> (The monthly charge includes the current state utility tax. ) <br /> 22 <br /> Where the use of water is such that a portion of all of the water <br /> 23 delivered to the customer does not discharge into a City sewer <br /> due to commercial or industrial use, such as loss ,by evaporation <br /> 24 or any other cause or use in manufactured products, such as ice, <br /> canned goods, beverages and the like, no sewer service charge <br /> 25 shall be made because of water so used or lost; provided, <br /> however, the water user shall provide proof as to the amount of <br /> 26 sewage discharge and/or install a meter or other measuring device <br /> approved by the City Engineer to determine either the amount of <br /> 27 sewage discharge or the amount of water so used or lost. <br /> 28 <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Service charges for the City of Everett sewer system are hereby <br /> fixed as follows: <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
