• 1 hereby declared to be public nuisances and the owner or his agent must abate by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal in accordance with 2 this Code or by any other procedures provided by law. 3 80-10 BOARD OF APPEALS. In order to determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction, to provide for reason- 4 able interpretations of this Code and to hear appeals from orders issued by the City's Building Official, the Board of Appeals created pursuant to 5 Ordinance No. 351-75 shall hear these matters. Appeals from written orders of the Building Official must be filed within thirty (30) calendar 6 days from the date of receipt of the written order by the aggrieved party. Such time limitation shall not apply to oral orders or directions given by 7 the Building Official. The aggrieved party shall cause to be made at his own expense any tests or research required to substantiate his claim. 8 80-11 VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES. It shall be unlawful for any 9 person, firm, or corporation to install, alter, or extend any electrical equipment in the City, or cause the same to be done, contrary to or in 10 violation of any of the provisions of this Code. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Code shall be deemed 11 guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which 12 any violation of any of the provisions of this Code is committed, continued or permitted, and upon conviction of any such violation such 13 person shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and 14 imprisonment. 15 80-12 PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS. 16 (a) Permits required: No person, firm or corporation shall install, alter, replace, or extend any electrical work or equipment except 17 replacement of kind or as provided for in Section 80-13, "Work Started Without a Permit," without first obtaining a separate 18 electrical permit for each installation, alteration, replacement or extension from the Building. 19 (b) Application: To obtain a permit the applicant shall first file an 20 application therefor in writing on a form furnished for that purpose. Every such application shall: 21 (1) Identify and describe the work to be covered by the permit 22 for which application is made; 23 (2) Describe the land on which the proposed work is to be done, by house and street address; 24 (3) Indicate the use or occupancy for which the proposed work 25 is intended; 26 (4) Be accompanied by plans and specifications as required in Subsection (d) of this section; 27 (5) State the valuation of the proposed work; 28 (6) Be signed by the permittee; 29 (7) Give such other information as reasonably may be required 30 by the Building Official. 31 (c) To Whom Permits May Be Issued: A permit may be issued to anyone as permitted by Section 19.28, RCW. 32 -3-
