•
1 (d) Plans and Specifications: With each application for a permit, and
when required by the Building Official for enforcement of any
2 provisions of this Code, two sets of plans, service diagrams,
specifications, and other information deemed necessary by the
3 Building Official, shall be submitted. The Building Official may
require plans and specifications to be prepared and designed by an
4 electrical engineer or electrical contractor licensed by the State to
practice as such. The plans shall be drawn upon substantial paper
5 or cloth and shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the nature and
extent of the work proposed and show in detail that it will conform
6 to the provisions of this Code and all other relevant laws,
ordinances, rules and regulations.
7
(e) Plan Checking: The application, plans, and specifications filed by
8 the applicant for a permit shall be checked by the Building
Official. If the Building Official is satisfied that the work
9 described in an application for a permit and the plans filed
therewith conform to the requirements of this Code and other
10 pertinent laws and ordinances and that the fee specified in Section
80-13 has been paid, he may issue a permit therefor to the
11 applicant.
12 (f) Validity: The issuance or granting of a permit or approval of plans
and specifications shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an
13 approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of the Code. No
permit presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the
14 provisions of this Code shall be valid, except insofar as the work
which it authorizes is lawful.
15
The issuance of a permit based upon plans and specifications shall
16 not prevent the Building Official from thereafter requiring the
correction of errors in said plans and specifications or from
17 preventing work being carried on thereunder when in violation of
the Code or of any other ordinance of the City.
18
(g) Suspension or Revocation: The Building Official may, in writing,
19 suspend or revoke a permit issued under provisions of this Code
whenever the permit is issued in error or on the basis of incorrect
20 information supplied, or in violation of any ordinance or regulation
or any of the provisions of this Code.
21
(h) Inspections:
22
(1) All construction, work, and equipment for which a permit is
23 required by this Code shall be subject to inspections by the
Building Official to insure compliance with this Code.
24
(2) That portion of any construction, work, and equipment
25 intended to be concealed shall not be concealed until
inspected and approved.
26
(3) Neither the City nor the Building Official nor his duly
27 appointed assistant shall be liable for any expense entailed
in the removal or replacement of any material required to
28 allow an inspection.
29 (4) The Building Official may require that every request for
inspection be filed at least one day before such inspection is
30 desired.
31
32
-4-
