• <br /> 1 Fire Alarm Systems Commercial Rate <br /> 2 Inspections outside of normal working hours shall be time and one-half of <br /> the prevailing wage scale, plus mileage from the origin of inpsector's <br /> 3 residence. <br /> 4 <br /> B. The National Electrical Code is hereby amended by deleting the following: <br /> 5 <br /> 6 ARTICLE 700-12. SOURCES OF POWER - EMERGENCY SYSTEMS <br /> 7 (c) Emergency systems. <br /> 8 (d) Separate Service. Where acceptable to the authority having <br /> jurisdiction, a second service shall be permitted. This service shall <br /> 9 be in accordance with Article 230, with separate service drop or <br /> lateral, widely separated electrically and physically from the <br /> 10 normal service to minimize the possibility of simultaneous inter- <br /> ruption of supply. <br /> 11 <br /> (e) Connection Ahead of Service Disconnecting Means. Where <br /> 12 acceptable to the authority having jursidction, connections ahead <br /> of, but not within, the main service disconnecting means shall be <br /> 13 permitted. The emergency service shall be sufficiently separated <br /> from the normal main service disconnecting means to prevent <br /> 14 simultaneous interruption of supply through an occurance within <br /> the building or groups of building served. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Section 4: Each of the codes and regulations adopted by reference in <br /> 17 Section 2 of this ordinance is hereby amended by the addition of the following: <br /> 18 <br /> It is expressly the purpose of this Code to provide for and promote the <br /> 19 health, safety and welfare of the general public, and not to create or <br /> otherwise establish or designate any particular class or group of persons <br /> 20 who will or should be especially protected or benefited by the terms of <br /> this Code. <br /> 21 <br /> It is the specific intent of this Code to place the obligation of complying <br /> 22 with these regulations upon the permit applicant and any person owning or <br /> controlling any building or structure within its scope and no provision nor <br /> 23 any term used in this Code is intended to impose any duty whatsoever <br /> upon the City or any of its officers, employees or agents, for whom the <br /> 24 implementation or enforcement of this Code shall be discretionary and <br /> not mandatory. <br /> 25 <br /> Nothing contained in this Code is intended to be nor shall be construed to <br /> 26 create or form the basis for any liability on the part of the City or its <br /> officers, employees or agents, for any injury or damage resulting from the <br /> 27 failure of a building to comply with the provisions of this Code, or by <br /> reason or in consequence of any inspection, notice, order, certificate, <br /> 28 permission or approval authorized or issued or done in connection with the <br /> implementation or enforcement of this Code, or by reason of any action <br /> 29 or inaction on the part of the City related in any manner to the <br /> implementation or the enforcement of this Code by its officers, <br /> 30 employees or agents. <br /> 31 Notwithstanding any language in this Code, it is not the intent of this <br /> Code to create a duty and/or cause of action running to any individual or <br /> 32 identifiable person but rather any duty is intended to run only to the <br /> general public. <br /> -6- <br />
