• <br /> 1 A. "Cruising" means the driving of a for-hire vehicle on the streets, <br /> alleys or public places of the City in search of, or soliciting, <br /> 2 prospective passengers for hire; <br /> 3 B. "Driver", "For-Hire Driver", and "Operator" mean any person, whether <br /> agent, employee, contractor, subcontractor or lessee authorized to <br /> 4 operate or physically engage in driving a for-hire limousine vehicle <br /> carrying passengers or baggage for hire, whether or not said person is <br /> 5 the owner of or has any financial interest in the ownership of said <br /> vehicle; provided, however, that the provisions of this ordinance <br /> 6 shall not apply to drivers of motor vehicles operated by any municipal <br /> or privately owned, licensed non-profit transit system; <br /> 7 <br /> C. "Holder" means a person to whom a license has been issued; <br /> 8 <br /> D. "Person" includes an individual , a corporation, a partnership, any <br /> 9 unincorporated association, or legal entity; <br /> 10 E. "Owner" means the registered owner as defined by the Revised Code of <br /> Washington (RCW) 46.04.460, as now or hereafter amended; <br /> 11 <br /> F. "Licensee" means all applicants, including affiliation representatives, <br /> 12 required to license for-hire vehicles under the provisions of this <br /> ordinance; <br /> 13 <br /> G. "Limousine" means every motor vehicle, not operated exclusively over a <br /> 14 fixed and defined route, and which is for hire by a person or persons <br /> for exlusive use upon a consideration determined by hourly rates or a <br /> 15 flat charge. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Section 3: LICENSE REQUIRED <br /> 18 It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation or any other <br /> 19 organization to hold out, advertise, solicit, operate, drive or use any <br /> 20 vehicle as a limousine in the City without having first obtained the <br /> 21 licenses required pursuant to the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> 22 The provisions of this ordinance shall not apply to motor vehicles <br /> 23 operated by any municipal or privately owned, licensed non-profit transit <br /> 24 system. <br /> 25 Section 4: LICENSE TERM - EXPIRATION OF LICENSES AND LICENSE FEES - <br /> LIMITATION <br /> 26 <br /> All licenses issued under this ordinance shall expire on July 31st of <br /> 27 <br /> each year. Such licenses may be renewed by the license holder for the <br /> 28 <br /> succeeding year by making application therefor with the City Clerk at least <br /> 29 <br /> ten days prior to the expiration date. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br /> 2 <br />
