• <br /> • <br /> 1 as, but not limited to, fraud, larceny, extortion) or is directly <br /> related to the ability or fitness of the applicant to engage in <br /> 2 the operation of a for-hire vehicle: <br /> 3 a. Felony within ten years preceding date of application; <br /> 4 b. Gross misdemeanor or misdemeanor within two years preceding <br /> date of application; <br /> 5 <br /> c. Criminal traffic within one year preceding date of <br /> 6 application; <br /> 7 d. Traffic infraction within six months preceding date of <br /> application; <br /> 8 <br /> 6. Show proof that he is covered by an insurance policy which meets <br /> 9 the minimum requirements as set forth in this ordinance; and <br /> 10 7. Must successfully complete a written examination administered at <br /> the time of initial application and at such other times as <br /> 11 required by the City Clerk. The examination will test the <br /> applicant's knowledge of the ordinance requirements dealing with <br /> 12 fare determination, driver-passenger relations, conduct including <br /> the applicant's ability to understand oral and written directions <br /> 13 in the English language, vehicle safety requirements and driver <br /> regulations, and a satisfactory geographic knowledge of the City <br /> 14 of Everett. <br /> 15 Section 14: FINGERPRINTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS OF APPLICANTS <br /> 16 Every applicant for a for-hire vehicle driver's license must submit, at <br /> 17 the applicant's expense, to fingerprinting by the Everett Police Department <br /> 18 and shall submit with his application, in duplicate, a full face photograph <br /> 19 of the applicant; said photographs to be of the size of one inch square. <br /> 20 One set of photographs shall become a part of the applicant's license, if <br /> 21 issued, and one set shall be filed with the Clerk ' s Office. All for-hire <br /> 22 drivers must be re-fingerprinted every two years. New pictures shall be <br /> 23 required yearly. <br /> 24 Section 15: DRIVER'S LICENSE - APPLICATION INVESTIGATION - ISSUANCE OR <br /> NON-ISSUANCE <br /> 25 <br /> A. The Chief of Police shall review the application for a for-hire vehicle <br /> 26 driver's license and determine whether the applicant meets the <br /> requirements of this ordinance. If the Chief of Police determines that <br /> 27 the for-hire vehicle driver's license should be issued or renewed, a <br /> license may thereupon be issued to the applicant which shall be in such <br /> 28 form as to contain the photograph and signature of the licensee. <br /> For-hire vehicle driver's licenses shall expire on August 31st of each <br /> 29 year. If the Chief of Police determines that a for-hire vehicle <br /> driver's license should not be issued or renewed, the City Clerk <br /> 30 thereof shall be notified setting forth the reasons for such rejection. <br /> 31 B. A license will be denied to any person if the City Clerk finds that the <br /> applicant has: <br /> 32 <br /> 10 <br />
