ORDINANCE NO. /3 -77 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1325-87, "Design and Construct the Alverson Bridge Upgrade," Fund No. 384, adding funding sources for Phase II (Design). WHEREAS, on October 8, 1986, Council authorized the City Public Works Department to advertise for an engineering consultant to perform the Preliminary Study and Detail Design for the Alverson Bridge Improvement; and as a result thereof hired Sverdrup Corporation; and WHEREAS, on March 17, and April 14, 1987, the engineering consultant made a presentation to City staff and the Port of Everett, respectively, regarding findings for the Alverson Bridge; and WHEREAS, on May 26, 1987, Sverdrup completed the Preliminary Engineering Study for the Alverson Bridge; and WHEREAS, on September 1, 1987, the City of Everett entered into an agreement with the Port of Everett providing funding from the Port of Everett for the Port's share of the Alverson Bridge design cost; and WHEREAS, the State of Washington has provided funding for the State's portion of the Alverson Bridge design and right-of-way. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: �II Section 1: That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1325-87 which reads as follows: Section 3: The tasks or actions to be performed under this Ordinance are: a. Phase I. (Program 896) { Conduct a "Preliminary Design Study" to determine the most suitable { ultimate bridge configuration. The study should include traffic, enviromental, archaeological, right of way, as well as structural considerations. b. Phase II (Program 897) Conduct the detail design for the bridge upgrade including road transitions and traffic control devices at both ends of the bridge. Conduct right of way procurement. iI c. Phase III Construct the bridge upgrade improvements.
