The Fire Department completed the annual <br /> inspection on April 29, 2014. A follow-up Fire Department inspection will be conducted on or <br /> after September 01, 2014. This letter includes a description of the conditions observed, the <br /> code reference for compliance, and corrective actions required. Please complete the actions <br /> listed below within 90 days from the date of this letter. <br /> Tenants must be advised that this building is not permitted for assembly purposes (concerts, <br /> bars, dining/tea, performance viewing or dancing), where the occupant load in any one room <br /> exceeds 49 people (IBC section 303.1.1). A building permit is required for a change of <br /> occupancy to assembly use, which will trigger a seismic analysis of the building, �er �BC �ection <br /> ���� =� <br /> 3�'s.i.� �����@ d��au���aE��<3woa eL���a��syy;��ws.A buildi���or <br /> tenant space used for assembly purposes with an occzrpant <br /> load of]ess than 50 persons shall be classified as a Group <br /> B occupancy. <br /> �UILDING AND FIRE DEPARTMENT CORRECTIONS <br /> A submittal of a building permit is required for the following retroactive fire code-related <br /> corrections, per IFC section 1101.3. <br /> • Permit plans must be prepared by a licensed WA state architect (RCW 18.08.410). <br /> • Maintenance of ineans of egress in existing buildings must comply with IFCsection <br /> 1030. <br /> • Fire safety requirements for existing buildings must comply with IFCsection 1103. <br /> • Retroactively applied requirements for means of egress in existing buildings are <br /> governed by IFCSection 1104, as amended by State of Washington in IFCsubsection <br /> 1104,1. <br /> a. IFC 1030.2 Reliabilitv <br /> The exits from the Broadway level floor should be clearly marked, and continuous to an <br /> exterior exit. In addition to other requirements of this letter, required exits include: <br /> • Restoration, signage, and emergency lighting at the fire escape access at that level; <br /> and <br /> • A corridor from the stair leading to the basement to an exit discharge, at street level, <br /> separated from other tenants at the basement level. <br /> b.
