This e mail from Mr Giffen sheds a considerable amount light and shows his intent to work a solution. Codes have
changed from 2010 but the content of his 2010 e mail still has validity today.
Before a successful conclusion to that code violation was achieved, it did in fact take the Mayor's most appreciated
personal effort in October, 2010 after a council meeting to intervene and speak to me personally that he was taking
action. After all, it had needlessly drug on for over 6 months which took a severe and personal emotion toll on us
including perhaps city staff as well.
With the Mayors pledge to get the matter resolved, things began to move forward expeditiously. I reiterate that in a short
2 weeks all permits necessary for correction, that had been blocked and denied to us for all those months were made
available to us and carried out by Mr Kirk Brooks authority and his staff inspectors.
Everything came full circle!
In December, 2010 Mr Brooks was given the assignment by the Hearing Examiner, to take full control of finalization and
inspection of the premises which is exactly what he originally intended to do months before.
With that, corrections were achieved, the entire violation was cast into a state of resolution.
However confusion remains..still today and again we hope to achieve clarity to that confusion. I sincerely hope this letter
and my previous correspondence adds a strong and reasonable element of understanding. Please be sure to not
separate my first letter to the Mayor from this e mail.
Gratefully yours,
Lynn and Linda Claughton
Allan Giffen <AGiffenRci.everett.wa.us>
To:Iclaughton@yahoo.com
Cc:KDavis@ci.everett.wa.us,DWilliams@ci.everett.wa.us,rstephanson@ci.everett.wa.us,DBryant@ci.everett.wa.0
s
l 4/j
