Hopefully this 2nd communication to the Mayor and his staff and to you offers an extension of further explanation. Please share this e mail with the Mayor's office. I am enclosing a very important communication from Allen Giffen back in 2010 that gives a short synopsis of the events that that took place at 1502 Pine St Unit A which was the subject of a code violation. PLEASE NOTE: Interior changes and property setback measurements of that building had been previously inspected by Tim Tyler in 1994. Many refused to believe this as a result of me losing his letter requesting an inspection. The City copy was never found either? A 40 year veteran of the Boeing Company, with a top security clearance, and a 6 year Veteran of WWII in Naval Aviation along with having the distinction of being the crew chief of the#1 747, RA 001 (AKA City of Everett) also witnessed Tyler's inspection. But, most regretfully, the credibility of the witness sworn statement to this effect was always ignored. I believe Mr Giffen makes it clear in his e mail (which I have provided copy here is offering to explain and provide a path of resolution to our violation as early as 2010. However there was a diversion that blocked that path of resolution that surfaced shortly thereafter. As the side note, the address change of 1502 Pine Street unit A was made to our building by the Snohomish County PUD. It was intended and still is used as a music studio and a respite for our disabled son and his family and remains in that use today. Permission for a bed to be utilized was granted. He must be accompanied by his folks. We occassional spend the night there. It has been fully inspected and is safe with multiple exits and smoke alarms. Mr Brooks: It is a fact you quickly acted to take ownership of that code violation and that you proceeded to work with diligence and dedication to accomplish a solution. I know this from the many hours we spent together having achieved progress to make that happen. You and Tony are well aware of this. Regretfully your efforts were thwarted when the matter was removed from your authority. For strange and mysterious reasons the code issue was assigned to young member of the planning department. Having a code violation that was under the direct responsibility being removed from the authority, knowledge and experience of the chief building official for the City of Everett also remains a mysterious action and was never in keeping with with normal city protocol. 3
