January 3, 2018 <br /> Sean Renfro, Everett, spoke about the Everett Police Department and the <br /> citizen complaint process. <br /> David Samuel Kiggins, Everett, spoke about the opioid crisis in Everett. <br /> Brenda Bolanos-Ivory, Everett, spoke on behalf of the League of Women <br /> Voters of Snohomish County to express support of a districting plan that <br /> includes five districts and two at large, or more. <br /> DELIBERATION AND SELECTION OF APPLICANT TO FILL INTERIM <br /> COUNCIL POSITION NO. 4 <br /> President Tuohy recapped the interview process from this afternoon's <br /> special meeting. She thanked all of the applicants and the finalists being <br /> considered tonight for the appointment, and she encouraged them to <br /> continue their leadership through the community. <br /> President Tuohy provided additional details about the deliberation and <br /> selection process. She stated she would ask each council member to <br /> submit, in writing, the name of their preferred candidate. She added that if <br /> the selection process results in more than two nominees, council <br /> members would be asked to vote to identify the top two candidates. She <br /> announced that the successful candidate would be sworn in this evening. <br /> Council members thanked the six finalists and others who applied for the <br /> position and President Tuohy for her work on this process. <br /> Council Member Roberts recommended that the finalists who are not <br /> appointed this evening be considered for future appointments to City <br /> Boards and Commissions. <br /> President Tuohy asked each council member to submit the name of their <br /> preferred candidate, and the city clerk opened and read the results as <br /> follows: <br /> Council Member Paul Roberts — Ethel McNeal <br /> Council Member Jeff Moore — Ethel McNeal <br /> Council Member Scott Murphy— Tyler Rourke <br /> 4 <br />
