If/when one of the pumps fails in the future, there must be enough information given to
allow the City's inspector and the site owner to identify a suitable replacement pump.
Pump calculations are required showing the determination of the total dynamic head. In addition, the system curve (the
ump's total dynamic head versus the flow rate in the system) should be lotted on the selected pump's characteristic
curve in order to show the pump's operal:ing point.
The source of power for the pump needs to be shown on the drainage plan, and the design of the electrical feed and
connection must be approved as part of the building permit.
If the stormwater pump fails on this site, there will be no controlled stormwater discharge from the site. For these types
of situations, City policy requires a duplex pump station that has auxiliary power, including an automatic transfer switch.
Emergency overflow requirements must be met in the event the pump system fails (City 2010 SWMM, Chapter 2.9 of
Volume III) and must be discussed in the report. The emergency overflow location must be shown and identified on the
plans.
The location of the pump panel must be shown on the plans. The pump panel must have a visible and audible high-level
alarm with push-to-silence switch.
Storm system improvements in 10th Street (sheet C05):
City standards require a minimum 12" diameter for storm drainage pipe located in the right-of-way.
City standards require a catch basin at pipe junctions—the core tap shown at key note 58 does not meet City standards,
which require a catch basin at pipe junctions.
1 ✓/
