• <br /> ORDINANCE NO ./ 3 / 4746 <br /> I <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing the <br /> 2 non-salary items of compensation <br /> granted the Appointive Officers <br /> 3 and Elected Officials of the City <br /> of Everett and repealing <br /> 4 Ordinance No . 1051-84 . <br /> 5 <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to <br /> 6 <br /> provide to all Appointive Officers non-salary items of <br /> compensation, commonly referred to as fringe benefits , which <br /> 7 are at least comparable to those provided to private industry , <br /> other governmental jurisdictions , and those provided to City <br /> 8 employees represented by labor organizations ; and <br /> 9 WHEREAS , it is in the best interest of the City to grant <br /> certain items of non-salary compensation to the Elected <br /> 10 Officials of the City of Everett , <br /> 11 <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Section 1 : Appointive Officers : <br /> A. The work week for all Appointive Officers of the <br /> 14 City shall be established by the Mayor in <br /> 15 accordance with what he deems necessary and <br /> appropriate for efficient functioning of the City <br /> 16 government . Appointive Officers shall in no <br /> instance be accorded premium pay for the <br /> 17 following : Overtime , longevity , call back or , if <br /> necessary , for working on a holiday designated in <br /> 18 this Ordinance. <br /> 19 B. The City shall provide an insurance plan for all <br /> Appointive Officers comprised of the following : <br /> 20 1 . Basic and major medical coverage for the <br /> 21 Appointive Officer and his/her eligible <br /> dependents . <br /> 22 2. A dental plan for the Appointive Officer and <br /> 23 his/her eligible dependents . <br /> 24 3 . The face amount of life insurance and the <br /> principal sum of accidental death and <br /> 25 dismemberment insurance for an Appointive <br /> Officer under age 70 shall be equal to two <br /> 26 times the Appointive Officer ' s basic annual <br /> earnings , rounded to the next higher multiple <br /> 27 of $] , 000 , if not already a multiple of <br /> $1 , 000 plus $2,000 . The maximum face amount <br /> 28 and maximum principal sum shall each be <br /> $150 , 000. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
