• ORDINANCE NO ./ 3 / 4746 I AN ORDINANCE establishing the 2 non-salary items of compensation granted the Appointive Officers 3 and Elected Officials of the City of Everett and repealing 4 Ordinance No . 1051-84 . 5 WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to 6 provide to all Appointive Officers non-salary items of compensation, commonly referred to as fringe benefits , which 7 are at least comparable to those provided to private industry , other governmental jurisdictions , and those provided to City 8 employees represented by labor organizations ; and 9 WHEREAS , it is in the best interest of the City to grant certain items of non-salary compensation to the Elected 10 Officials of the City of Everett , 11 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 12 13 Section 1 : Appointive Officers : A. The work week for all Appointive Officers of the 14 City shall be established by the Mayor in 15 accordance with what he deems necessary and appropriate for efficient functioning of the City 16 government . Appointive Officers shall in no instance be accorded premium pay for the 17 following : Overtime , longevity , call back or , if necessary , for working on a holiday designated in 18 this Ordinance. 19 B. The City shall provide an insurance plan for all Appointive Officers comprised of the following : 20 1 . Basic and major medical coverage for the 21 Appointive Officer and his/her eligible dependents . 22 2. A dental plan for the Appointive Officer and 23 his/her eligible dependents . 24 3 . The face amount of life insurance and the principal sum of accidental death and 25 dismemberment insurance for an Appointive Officer under age 70 shall be equal to two 26 times the Appointive Officer ' s basic annual earnings , rounded to the next higher multiple 27 of $] , 000 , if not already a multiple of $1 , 000 plus $2,000 . The maximum face amount 28 and maximum principal sum shall each be $150 , 000. 29 30 31 32
